A new study suggest that Hurricane Maria caused 4,645 deaths when it hit Puerto Rico, based on household surveys, according to Science News.
Maria, a Category 5 hurricane, hit Puerto Rico, a United States Caribbean territory on September 20th, 2017.
With another hurricane season rolling in, researchers stress using information to be better prepared for the next big storm.
