In an effort to end a rash of school shootings that have plagued the United States over the past several months, a United States politician, and Congress candidate, is using a YouTube video to get his message out.
Levi Tillemann, a Democrat candidate in Colorado, is calling for a change to legislation that will help protect children in schools.
Nobody can argue that more needs to be done, but Tillemann took an odd approach to getting his message across.
Spraying pepper spray in his own eyes.
“I am calling on congress to pass legislation to place secure a can of high-power pepper spray inside a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ box in every classroom in the country and train teachers how to use this powerful self-defense tool,” Tillemann said.
“These boxes should be wired into the school’s fire alarms, to help ensure that they are only used in true emergencies.”
After voluntarily spraying himself in the eyes….
“It’s incredibly painful, and now I just can’t see anything,” he said.
It’s just unbearable, it’s like lava in your eyes.”
Tillemann’s approach may be odd, but his message is sensible, as he is calling for pepper spray to be implemented in schools as opposed to arming teachers with guns.
