It appears that the release of 20th Century Fox’s ‘Underwater’ is already drowning following a terrible estimated opening of $7 million.
Despite a reported budget between $60-$80 million and a marketing campaign, the underwater thriller that was directed by William Eubank and staring Kristen Stewart was an absolute dud nationally, and didn’t fair much better globally, with just an estimated $14.1 million.
However, and typical with horror movies, while critics slam it and the box office numbers don’t reflect positively, horror fans are positively reacting to the film, that has drawn inspiration from Alien, obviously.
