One of the unfortunate circumstances of the years-long legal battle between Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller regarding the rights to Friday the 13th/Jason Voorhees not only halted new movies from being made for theaters, but also put an end to new content being released back in 2018 for the wildly popular ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’.
Despite the halt, and despite the developers of the game moving on to other projects, the game remains popular and has now motivates some fans to resurrect the game and a groups of fans to releases a modded version of the game, which will be available for free.
‘Friday the 13th: The Game – Resurrected’ doesn’t have an official release date at this time (it will be officially announced on April 15th), but the developers have already unveiled some details. While it will initially arrive on PC, there are talks about a console version of the game as well.
The developers did share the following:
- “Everything from the base game is included; Savini Jason is included too!”
- “We will be hosting our own servers!”
- “It will get continuous updates post launch!”
- “All content that did not make it in the official game will be in our mod!”
- “You won’t need base game to enjoy our mod. The download will available in our discord server!”
